About the winery Bodegas Luzón makes modern wines with lots of fruit and lush, measured use of wood in the sunny Spanish region of Jumilla. They are generous, robust wines that both wine connoisseurs and casual wine drinkers enjoy. Comfort wine, you can safely say that. The wines are often made from the Monastrell, so typical of Jumilla.
Vineyard and region Sourced from vineyards in Jumilla. The grapes are picked by hand at night.
Vinification After the grapes have been destemmed and gently pressed, the wine is moved to stainless steel tanks where fermentation begins spontaneously. The wine is then moved to used French oak barrels, where fermentation is completed. The wine then matures further as it matures 'sur lie' (on the yeast cells). This process gives extra creaminess and complexity to the wine.
Color Golden yellow.
Smell Aromatic. Flowers and ripe fruit (apricots, mango, peach).
Taste Creamy, full and round. The fruit is supported by notes of wood. Freshness in the aftertaste.
Serve at Lekker with fried redfish with a beurre blanc.
