Chaves Albarino Cinco Islas 2022

Chaves Cinco Islas Albarino
An award-winning wine, this Cinco Islas Albarino from the Spanish winery Chaves. At an altitude of 100 meters on the top of the mountain, the vines enjoy an excellent climate. The vineyard benefits from sea breezes and plenty of sunshine all day long. The perfect combination for the Albarino grape.

Chaves wines full of passion and dedication
Since 1955, the Chaves winery has been a household name in the Rias Baixas appellation. They make beautiful wines from, among other things, the Albarino grape. It is a real family business that works with great respect for nature. Soon, founder José Chaves knew he wanted his vineyards in the westernmost end of the Atlantic Ocean. He managed to encourage his family from generation to generation to pursue the same dream. In 1986, the winery was one of the first to market wines that were protected. With this they also helped create the famous Rias Baixas name. Today, the third generation is at the helm with a lot of dedication, passion and perseverance.

At optimal ripeness, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand. This is done so that a strict selection can take place in the vineyard itself. This guarantees high quality. The grapes are brought to the winery in small crates. This is followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of 16 degrees. The wine then matures sur lie for 4 months. That gives this Cinco Islas Albarino just a little more complexity and creaminess. Finally, the wine matures for another 3 months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled.

Enjoy the tropical Cinco Islas Albarino
The result is an aromatic wine with wonderful scents of citrus, mango, pineapple and apricot. The tropical scents are supplemented with floral notes. The aromas are clearly evident in the taste. A particularly fruity wine with clear aromas. With saltiness and minerality in the aftertaste. A good wine to pair with seafood.
