Braida Barbera d'Asti Curej 2020
About the winery Giacomo Bologna was and is the Barbera king of Piedmont with his bequeathed winery Braida. The beautiful winery in Rocchetta Tanaro, on the Tanaro River, is the textbook example for wines made from Barbera for many wine lovers. Bologna created a Barbera style in the 1980s that did not exist until then: manual selection, temperature-controlled fermentation and maturation in new French oak.
Vineyard and Region Sourced from the vineyards immediately surrounding the Braida Wine Resort on the Asinara Hill near Rocchetta-Tanaro.
Vinification Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature for 15 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for three months in large oak barrels.
Color Ruby red with a purple glow.
Smell Red berries, cherries and plums.
Taste Juicy and fruity with notes of red fruit. Some cloves and licorice due to the wood aging.
Serve at Lekker with a tomato carpaccio.
