Almenkerk Lace Red 2016 / 2019
In the early 2000s Joris and Natalie moved from Oostduinkerke in West Flanders (where Joris parents kept the well-known restaurant “de Mikke” open) to Elgin in South Africa, the new trendy “cold climate” region that is reminiscent of Scotland in view and in terms of quality. climate in Burgundy. Joris used to be a "fan" of Bordeaux and this Lace Red is a real Bordeaux blend with a little Shiraz.
Grape varieties: Merlot, Shiraz, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.Aging 23 months in French oak barrels

Smell: fruity aromas of red and black fruits. In the nose quite expressive with a fine spiciness, typical of the Shiraz. But also refined floral scents of violets and wild flowers and black plums
Finish: The natural acidity and purity of fruit make for an elegant wine with a lingering finish with a long and juicy finish
